This weekend I managed to find ANOTHER winter adventure! We went up north to Jay Cooke State Park for some hiking and exploring. It was so dang cold but man it was worth it. We drove up, got the parking pass, bundled up, and went hiking. Some of the views were just so stunning with the water and the cliffs. The dogs just loved running free and playing in the snow. Madison, the bigger one, does this thing where she throws her body on the ground and makes snow angels! She just rolls around on her back and has the time of her life and it the cutest thing.
We spent a couple hours just hiking around and exploring before we decided we were starving and went into Duluth to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Mexico Lindo. They have the BEST queso dip I have ever had so getting that was a must. We went to a few favorite local shops, met a couple friends at the Canal Park Brewery for a flight of beer, and then headed back home.
The pups were totally tuckered out and slept the whole way home all snuggling with each other! It felt good to get outside and get fresh air and take in some scenery. It was also good to be back in Duluth, where I went to college, and see some of the places that I still miss on that big beautiful lake!
