This weekend I was invited to CycleBar in Woodbury Minnesota to try out a free spin class! This is a new studio that is just absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. I hadn’t been to a spin class since college so I was a little nervous about how it would go. I quickly learned that the staff there gave me no reason to be nervous. They were so helpful! They direct you to pick out shoes that clip into the bike petals, they give you a free water bottle and fill it up with their chilled water, they give you a free secure locker to keep all your things in, and this was all before I even made it to the bike!
Once I was at my bike the staff ensured that everything was adjusted appropriately for my height and helped me clip in. Then it was time to get to work. They shut down the main over head lights, put on some great music with the music video along with it on their two big TVs, and the instructor led the way for the rest of the class. She was so energetic and really inspiring to keep your body working hard in the time that you had. I was sooo sweaty by the end of the class and I couldn’t have been happier about it because I was honestly having such a good time that it didn’t feel so much like a work out. That’s what it’s all about people; finding things that are new and fun so that it doesn’t even feel like a work out! Check out their schedule and you will see occasionally that they have a FREE Intro to CycleBar class like the one I did so you can get introduced to the studio and what a class looks like.
If that’s not enough motivation to get your booty in there to try it, maybe doing it for a good cause would? On November 12th (at this cycle bar, check your city location for different dates) you can spin to raise money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America! This event is a team relay event designed to raise money for a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis. You and three friends can form a team where you will pedal away and commit to raising funds for this organization. You can find out all the details by going here!
I hope this post inspires you to get out there and try new things for your workouts. New things really help keep us from boredom which keeps our motivations high! Get out there and keep your body moving!
